The draw of Design to me is the opportunity to lovingly & laboriously transform my ideas into visual forms, for others to observe, inspect & judge. Through my designs I explore duality; striking a balance between contrast and unity. What sets me apart from other designers is that given the chance I am always excited to combine my love of traditional processes such as Screen & Block printing with my understanding of the contemporary rules of design to create truly handcrafted imagery. When not working on designs, I create original, hand printed art using traditional Linocut & Screenprinting techniques. NOTICE In the Spring of 2015 I was a member of a temporary art collective known as “The Transparency Group”. The group consisted of artists from various disciplines: Photography, Sculpture, Graphic Arts, Painting, and Printmaking who had a interest in focusing on issues of transparency. We needed a way to present our collective work to the public. After several brainstorming sessions it was decided that the best course of action was to create a zine. I decided to present the content chronologically both as a way to manage content and to take the reader on a journey through the evolution of our organization. To help capture the heart and soul of the organization; the spirit of the people who were drawn together through our mutual love of all thing print. I asked my fellow members to each design a two page spread with the only requirement being that showcase both their love of the process and what PrintMakeIt meant to them.
